When we arrive at your premises we usually start the appointment by asking you to fill out a form with the basic business details and then ask to be shown the rooms and equipment you would like tested. If you are unsure then we can advise on what should and shouldn't be tested.
We then start the inspection and testing in accordance with IET (Institute of Engineering & Technology) Code of Practice for In-service Inpsection of Electrical Equipment (5th Edition, 2020).
Each inspection entails checking the appliance, the cabling and the plug to ensure there is no damage, the cables are connected properly and the correct fuse is fitted. Once we confirm the condition is good, we then test the equipment using specialist calibrated equipment. If the appliance passes we attach a green label to the cord to show that it has been tested and is safe to use.
Once testing is completed, we discuss the result with you as well as offering any advice on appliances that are prone to user damage as well as notifying you of any problems encountered.
You will be issued with an initial Certificate of Testing and receipt and within 10 working days, we will email you a PDF copy of the final report.
